Bronto Software, a leader in the competitive world of online interactive marketing, is seeking a well-rounded Java Software Engineer experienced with medium-to-large-scale web development to assist in developing the platform for our email marketing and analytics web applications.
The Java Software Engineer must have experience in developing robust applications in a hosted software (SaaS) model. Projects will include: design and implementation of a new, highly scalable data model and storage platform which our front end applications will be built upon; development of our next-generation external web API; design and development of highly scalable, rapid access to terabytes of data in a flexible manner. Knowledge of Internet marketing software, email systems, web analytics, or other highly transactional, write-intensive systems is an advantage.
Bronto is rapidly growing and our current client list includes names like Duke University, Trek Bikes, Gander Mountain, and Etsy. We are seeking to increase the functionality of our applications as we continue to attract clients looking to apply higher degrees of measurement and metric-based analysis of their marketing campaigns. Requirements include:
* BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
* 3-7 years of experience in software development
* Expertise coding/working in Java and SQL (PHP, other languages a plus)
* Expertise in Hadoop/Hive or other alternative-to-SQL data storage systems
* You live and breathe acronyms like OOP and MVC
* Experience developing in a Linux/Unix environment. No Microsoft here
* Experience working with source code control such as Subversion, CVS, or Git
* Ability to write code that kicks butt and takes names
* Eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship
* A sense of humor helps too!
