Description:
NewSouth Technologies, Inc. and the NC (Department of Transportation(NCDOT) Information Technology Enterprise Build Services is seeking a short term (6 month maximum) JBoss/JAVA engineer and administrator to install defined applications in an enterprise Java application hosting environment. The environment is currently operational and architected but requires adaptation within an architectural approval process to accommodate the varying requirements of the new applications. The environment is built on JBoss Application Server 4.2, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, CAS (Central Authentication Services), JBoss Web, Apache, Oracle WEBGATE and Oracle APPGATE. The selected candidate will complete and document the build and work with existing staff to transfer JBoss, JABA administration competencies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
Required:
? Minimum (3) Three years production working experience with JBoss Application Server and Red Hat Server.
? Expert-level knowledge of JBoss concepts, setup, and administration. Knowledge of Linux system administration as it pertains to managing JBoss.
? Basic knowledge of J2EE application development for troubleshooting deployment and operation issues.
? In depth competency in CAS, JBoss Web and Apache.
? Excellent documentation skills (hard copy work sample required if selected for Interview).
? Demonstrated experience in working within mixed OS environment and large enterprise team.
? Excellent verbal communication skills (written and oral).
Preferred:
Experience working in a DOT type environment including knowledge of NCID.
Selected candidate must:
? Sign & comply with NCDOT-IT Non-Disclosure Agreement
? Submit to NCDOT approved criminal/credit background check at vendor's expense, (Employment is contingent upon satisfactory outcome of criminal/credit background check).
? Sign DOT Ethics Policy.\
? Sign DOT Statement of Understanding regarding use of computers & Information Technology resources.
? Sign DOT Internet & E-mail Policy & Procedures.
Selected candidate will be required to:
? Utilize NCDOT time sheet application for verification of hours worked.
State does not:
? Reimburse for commuting expenses or relocation expenses for anyone. Parking/travel expenses to/from main site & within Raleigh area to be in hourly rate.
? Reimbursement for expenses for work at sites outside of main site in accordance with NCDOT travel policy.
NCDOT will not provide a cell phone to the selected candidate. If a cell phone is required, selected vendor is required to supply cell phone & cost should be included in hourly rate.
